This was soooo goood! Marc Gafni said something the other day along the lines of we suffer from General Intimacy Disorder. Psychedelics have helped me immensely, however in two years I’ve already realize I don’t need to go into that space frequently. As I learned that doing so for me is just bypassing the fullness of this human existence. Congrats and excited for the book!

Looking forward to the book. I believe psychedelics have a key role to play in getting humanity out of its current funk. I know psychedelics got me out of my personal funk in early adulthood.

And yet the psychedelic revolution of the ‘60s and ‘70s, while producing amazing music and literature, failed to accomplish the needed spiritual transformation. Why? And how can we do it differently this time around?

For me, more lasting personal development was made by connecting to traditional spiritual practices after my initial psychedelic experiences. The energy produced needs a container. In my mind, that container is what was missing in the previous revolution. But what can serve as that container in the modern West? What temples can we build? What rites and rituals can we create? What spiritual communities can we build? How do we avoid having them turn into the hedonistic dystopias of ‘60s and ‘70s communes? I believe the future of humanity turns on working out good answers to these sorts of questions.

Looking forward to further installments. I’m not exactly envious of your study, but I am thrilled to know someone who was involved in it. Now I get to hear about how it all went down.
